This is my first and only writing.
Mom updates it for me from time to time.
A bit about me: I am a purebred Brussels Griffon. I come from a family of Champions, but I don't show. You can see pictures of me here. - Just scroll down to the bottom of the page. I moved in to my home and began taking over in May, 2000. I was just 1 year old! I share my home with 2 other griffons, Nelly and Duke and a few cats. Mom got me from a reputable breeder in central Florida who I really adored. I still miss her sometimes. But my new "Mommy" is my best friend now and we are inseparable, except when she puts on those emerald green colored scrubs and leaves the house. She says something about having to make money to buy more dog food for us kids. Hmmm. I used to be real shy and some times I still act a little shy to everyone except Mom & my immediate family but you have to keep up the mystery.
I have decided that I will protect my home from all manner of threats such as:
The 3 cats that live and have lived here before me; If my owners only new what they are about! OK the oldest one died and I kind of liked her, so I was a little bit sad. But Brittni got a new cat and she makes a great chew toy. And then Leo came along. Brittni raised him, bottle fed him and everything. He was orphaned I guess. It's kind of sad really, but Brittni made a good momma cat. Leo will pounce on us as we come running by sometimes, but otherwise he acts kind of like another dog. I guess I'll let him and Zesty slide, but the other 2 cats - watch out.........
The vacuum thing that occasionally comes out of hiding and makes horrible noises; I used to show it who is boss! Now I pretty much ignore it. Nelly & Duke they still have fits about it occasionally.
The teenage boys that come to visit my mom's teenage son, Micah. Especially his X-best friend Scott! (Update - Gee, I wonder why I never liked him! Those of you who know me, probably know why! He was a bad guy from the start and I knew it right off the bat. I am sorry no one would listen to me before he hurt our family.) I guess I kind of like Micah's friend Matt, but don't tell him. I get more treats if he thinks I don't like him.
Micah's girlfriend. - Only she don't come around anymore. They broke up whatever that means - guess I just scared her off. Plus he is mine to lick. *Update* So Micah has a new girl now and I like her. Guess I'll let her lick him too if she wants. *Another Update* - Summer 2005 Micah moved out. He took most of his stuff and his dog too. I miss licking Micah and Duke really misses Micah the most. Micah comes and visits and brings his girlfriend and the dog, Ares. We like it when they come over. I get to lick him again and Duke jumps all the way up into his arms. Mom is happy too.
Anyone else that comes over too whether they knock on the door or not. Mom tells me not to bark at the Pizza delivery people. I guess I understand because they are bringing food. But still it's just too much fun and you can never be too certain one will not steal your daughter's heart. . . plus when do I get Pizza? only time I ever get pizza is when Mom isn't looking and certainly NOT from the Pizza delivery dude or dudette.....
The garbage can outside that makes a funny noise when it rolls out to and in from the street on garbage days. Though I have been here for over 6 years now it still gets under my fur and I have to bark furiously at it whenever I hear it in motion.
I have learned a few things since I have been with my new family:
The cats are not friendly. Two of them are bigger than me. They have hidden deadly razors attached to their paws. Ha! Except the mean one - he got de-clawed for being such a mean kitty. And boy do we have fun with him now.
Teenagers do not taste that good in spite of what you may have heard. One bite is definitely enough of that!
Teenagers don't need girlfriends and boyfriends anyway.
You should always trust your dog's judgment.
Anyone you don't see first thing in the morning, at their ugliest I might add, needs to be barked at.
The kitty door should be held with suspicion and be attacked with the utmost violence anytime anyone goes near it. Maybe it will stop letting the CATS in!
In September of 2004 I learned that hurricanes suck. We were hit by hurricane Ivan and that was quite an experience; I got very very sick but thanks to the Oregon DMAT medical team I am feeling much better! I had a NDE and have not been the same ever since.
People should just have puppies. Puppies don't have weddings. Mom said I shouldn't think that in my thought bubble but she is so busy planning Brittni's wedding these days...Brittni will be marrying Patrick. He's a nice enough guy. I like him OK. But he is in the Army and they'll be moving to Kansas. Now I'm not sure where that is but I know it's far away because Mom says it is. I'll miss Brittni when she's gone. 5/2006
I know there is always more to learn and more faces to lick of those I know and love, my family.
